Everyone loves a good wander

In today's first reading, Theseus spends time wandering. Come to think of it, so does Dionysius. If we recall from yesterday, Hercules spend time wandering and all it seemed like Orion and Artemis did was roam around. Why do you think so many myths involve the idea of wandering (or walking around aimlessly)?

  2. I think in most ancient greek myths everyone wanders around because they want to make it seem like during the journey of roaming around they will run into something important or something they will have to fight off. such as a minotaur or a thief etc... The main point is in each ancient greece myth they will run into something there gonna have to face in there journey/wander.

  4. @ARIADNE: i agree with you. they did say they had nothing to do so they told stories and that is how myths started.

  5. i'm guessing th reason for it is maybe the myths start off as characters not having a since of direction and then later on in the story they begin to fingd out the reson for their wandering i dont know maybe you guys might have a different and better guess

  6. i think that they involve wandering a lot because they probably have nothing else to do so they just wander off to figure out what to do with their lives.

  7. I feel that they did alot of wandering because they had nothing to do and if they wandered around they would find something to do. I guess all the wandering they did helped them cum up with the myths they came up with.

  10. i think that the myths walked n wander around some much is because they wanted to tell stories of there lives. Like wen Dionysus was wandering n the pirates caught them.

  14. Ah, Icarus. Welcome on board. I like that comment. So you think that by wandering you can find yourself.

EVERYONE--do you agree? Do we find ourselves by roaming around?

I BELIEVE THEY WANDER BECAUSE THEY WANT ATTENTION AND THEY WANT TO BE NOTICED BECAUSE OF A CERTAIN ABILITY THEY HAVE FOR EXAMPLE WHEN DIONYSUS WERE CAPUTURED BY THOSE PIRATES HE SET CONFIDENTLY AND CALM LIKE HE KNEW HE WAS POWERFUL TO ME THATS ARROGANCE AND WHEN YOU HAVE AN EGO YOU WANT TO BE NOTICE

  22. i dont find myself wandering around because i have a life in my family is at home which mean i would never have to just wander around because i dont have anything else to do

  23. @Athena E: Sorry to say it but you are wrong, our friends actually shows who we are, because in order to have a friend you have to have the same things in common. so pretty much a friend is just like you

  30. @ iammortal17 i find it hard to believe becasue most people now a days change themselves when they are with they friends just to feel accepted. so in reality your friends dont help you find yourself. they change you

i think they were going around killing people to show them that they we men now. And how they learn from what they saw as they were kids in learning to be a fighter.

  33. I think your friends do help you find your self. Its up to you to choose friends that are going to help you find your self with out changing who you are. Friends can help you change(if you want them to)for the good or for the bad,its all up to you.

  34. i disagree with the fact that your friends help u find your self because sometime they can change u. like Hercules was with Hera n she changed him so much that he killed his family.
